1. Who we are

D&E Property Pro ("we", "us") operates a property intelligence and inspection platform for users in Australia. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

2. Information we collect

  • Account data: name, email address, authentication identifiers, and profile preferences.
  • Usage data: pages visited, feature interactions, device type, browser, IP address, and timestamps (including for security and abuse prevention).
  • Uploaded content: property documents, inspection photos, and related metadata you submit to use the Service.
  • Payment data: billing status and transaction references processed by our payment provider (we do not store full card numbers).
  • Communications: messages you send via contact forms or support channels.

3. How we use information

We use personal information to:

  • Provide, secure, and improve the Service.
  • Process uploads, generate reports, and deliver paid features.
  • Authenticate users and prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorised access.
  • Record terms acceptance and maintain compliance audit trails.
  • Respond to enquiries and send service-related communications.
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.

4. Legal bases

We collect and use personal information where necessary to perform our contract with you, with your consent (for example at signup), where required by law, or where we have a legitimate interest that is not overridden by your privacy rights (such as platform security).

5. Disclosure

We may share information with infrastructure and service providers (hosting, database, email, payments, analytics, and AI processing) under contractual confidentiality and data-handling terms. We may also disclose information where required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security. We do not sell personal information.

6. Overseas disclosure

Some providers may process data outside Australia (for example United States or European Union regions). Where this occurs, we take reasonable steps to ensure recipients handle information consistently with the APPs.

7. Retention

We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide the Service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Retention periods for uploads and reports may vary by product tier and operational policy.

8. Security

We implement administrative, technical, and organisational measures appropriate to the sensitivity of the data, including access controls, encryption in transit, and server-side protections. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

9. Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we hold about you, subject to legal exceptions. Contact us using the details below. If you are unsatisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).

10. Cookies and analytics

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We may use privacy-oriented analytics to understand aggregate usage. You can control non-essential cookies through browser settings where applicable.

11. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

12. Changes

We may update this policy by publishing a new version and last-updated date. Material changes will be communicated where required.
